Abstract
During development, the heart is the first organ to function. However, abnormalities in the developmental stage of the heart can lead to congenital heart diseases (CHDs). In order to improve diagnosis and manufacture new treatments, it is vital to understand how the heart evolves. Thus, the long term goal of the project is to elucidate the mechanisms–cellular, genetic, molecular–that control heart development. To obtain that end goal, research to determine the role of aGPCRs in heart development is required. Therefore, this research seeks out to further analyzes the role of aGPCRs by focusing specifically on the adgrl2a/b isoforms. Sequencing transgenic DNA was done in order to do a functional analysis of candidate aGPCRs.
