Research project title

Radio Broadcasting in the US and Latin America

Research description

My research investigates the origins of contemporary media practices in radio broadcasting in the 1930s and 1940s. I examine the historical development of docudramas and sitcoms as media genres, and I'm interested in the rise of progressive and anti-progressive uses of radio broadcasting. I also study the historical development and practice of community broadcasting in Mexico and Latin America more broadly. My research investigates media institutions, programs, and audiences.
