Biography

My dissertation uses narrative inquiry to explore how multilingual Women of Color in a critical service-learning course utilize stories to construct a collaborative learning space and center their knowledge and experiences. In doing so, they challenge deficit perceptions of multilingual Students of Color, resist educational assimilation, and envision education that sustains and liberates future generations. This work reminds scholars and educators of the importance of research highlighting the assets and successes of students’ educational journeys.
