We encourage you to advertise postdoctoral positions as broadly as possible via Jobs@UIOWA and the Postdoc Opportunities Board to ensure a qualified and diverse pool of candidates.

Jobs@UIOWA

Jobs@UIOWA may be used to accommodate all stages of filling a postdoctoral scholar vacancy. This includes departments creating the requisition and the advertising; applicants completing a brief application form and uploading their CV, letter of interest, references, and other application materials; and departments electronically submitting a request to hire.

Advertising on Jobs@UIOWA will generate the temporary position posting for the Iowa Workforce Development website to comply with the federal regulation for Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act and VEVRAA. If departments do not use Jobs@UIOWA, they are required to create a temporary position posting for a minimum of 3 full calendar days for any Postdoctoral Research Scholar position lasting 4 or more days unless the candidate is an internal hire (current UI employees or former UI employee within the prior 24 months). Posting is not required for Postdoctoral Research Fellow positions.

This application process is similar to the faculty process.

Questions regarding this process may be directed to Human Resources Director Tanesha Herman at 335-1287. Please direct technical questions to jobs-help@uiowa.edu.
