In 1999, the University of Iowa Center for the Book, a world-class arts and research program supported by the Graduate College, was tasked with making conservation papers to support the Charters of Freedom located inside the National Archives Rotunda in Washington, D.C.
With the nation’s 250th anniversary approaching, UICB faculty shared how they were chosen to design and produce this specialized, acid-free paper built to last for centuries.
