Fwangmun 'Oscar' Danladi
Fwangmun Oscar Danladi is a scholar-activist from Jos, Nigeria, whose work bridges theology, ecology, and social justice. He earned a Master of Theological Studies from ECWA Theological Seminary (Jos), where his passion for integrating faith and environmental activism led him to co-found the Jos Green Centre, a youth-led initiative promoting eco-entrepreneurship and community-based climate action. He later completed a Master of Theology (Th.M.) in Religion and Society at Princeton Theological Seminary, where his research explored the complex interplay of bodies, land, and identity in the cosmologies of Nigeria’s Middle Belt. Now a PhD student in Religious Studies at the University of Iowa, Danladi investigates how cultural and religious practices shape identity formation and inform ecological ethics in postcolonial contexts. His interdisciplinary approach—rooted in critical theory, indigenous cosmologies, and postcolonial critique—seeks to uncover how colonial legacies and local spiritualities shape contemporary understandings of land, belonging, and sustainability. Through both scholarship and activism, Danladi advances a lived-theology that connects academic inquiry with public impact, empowering young people to create innovative and sustainable futures for their communities.
