The currently accepted theory of gravitation, Einstein’s general relativity, leads to the dark energy problem. Visible matter is insufficient to explain the observed expansion rate of the Universe. Moreover, general relativity is incompatible with quantum mechanics, the most successful theory of physics. My thesis is on the diffeomorphism field theory which is introduced to supplement general relativity in hope of a solution to these problems.
