The primary goals of my research are to 1) examine the presence of temporal clustering in heavy precipitation events around the globe and identify the dominant climate modes responsible for this behavior; 2) assess the capability of global and regional climate models to reproduce the temporal clustering exhibited by the observations; and 3) assess the effect of anthropogenic forcing on the temporal clustering in heavy precipitation events.
