This dissertation explores the value of using an autonomous vehicle in last-mile delivery. Last-mile delivery is the movement of goods from a transportation hub to their final destination. The autonomous vehicle picks up and drops off the delivery person making on foot deliveries, avoiding the need to find parking. This work is benchmarked by modeling current delivery practices where the delivery person must park the vehicle prior to making on foot deliveries.
