The advantages of an adaptive test battery include shortening test length or increasing the accuracy of subtest scores. The problem is how to improve subtest score estimation by borrowing information from other subtests for a variable-length adaptive battery under unidimensional and multidimensional computer adaptive testing frameworks. Practical issues such as content constraints and item exposure control are considered. It will help practitioners decide whether the use of collateral information is worthwhile under different testing situations.
