The objective of the dissertation is to evaluate the effectiveness and psychometric characteristics of the conventional scoring methods of the Balanced Inventory of Socially Desirable Responding (BIDR) along with twelve new scoring methods (seven each for fake good and fake bad) that emphasize varying degrees of exaggerated responses. Decision makers, researchers, clinical experts, and others might benefit from findings in making optimal use of BIDR scores.
