Survival data analysis is an important subject within biostatistics that estimates time until an event occurs. My dissertation examines median time-to-event as a function of prognostic factors. I developed a novel approach motivated by the area of personalized medicine, where treatment is individualized according to patients’ characteristics rather than what fits half the population. I plan to share my work by developing a computer software package that will be available to healthcare practitioners.
