Naturalism is the worldview that philosophy and science ought to be continuous enterprises concerning the nature of the world. Although naturalism is popular, it is also highly controversial. My dissertation advances a systematic assessment of naturalism and a critical analysis of its commitments and implications. While naturalism significantly challenges many conceptions of science, philosophy, and their relationship, I argue it is mutually fruitful for both when properly interpreted and understood.
