My study will examine how Korean immigrant parents in the U.S make their language choices (English and Korean), and how these decisions impact their language customs in the home. My research goal is to recognize language choices and maintenance processes and to determine how systematically the families activate different interactional language strategies. This study will increase our understanding of bilingual families, and it will help individuals seeking to educate their bilingual children.
