Rates of childhood overweight and obesity remain high and novel approaches are needed to address this public health issue. The current proposal aims to investigate the relationship between parental levels of weight stigma (i.e., prejudicial attitudes or discriminatory behavior targeted at individuals who carry excess weight) and weight-related parenting behaviors. Specifically, we hypothesize that parental reports of weight stigma will be significantly associated with obesogenic feeding practices and support for physical activity.
