Biography

Children’s museums can offer playful and engaging learning environments for young children. What a child learns during a visit is greatly mediated by the adults that accompany them. Prior educational research in children’s museum often assumes adults are always trying to teach their children, missing their complex nature as both educational and leisure sites. I use a mixed methods approach to further our understanding of adults' actions and influences during intergenerational learning in children’s museums.
