My research focuses on improving atmospheric models. I am doing this by (1) using satellite detections of fires to produce daily emissions for different chemical species and aerosol particles and (2) considering the development of each plume to determine what altitude they reach using physical constrains. I evaluate these improvements for fires in Africa and North America. Combined, these developments will produce more realistic representations of smoke in air quality and climate change.
