Biography

Alcohol use disorder affects millions of Americans every year and represents a significant burden on society. However, how alcohol acts in the body is not completely understood, and current treatment options do not help all patients. I study how acid-sensing ion channel 1A, a molecule located in the brain that influences brain cell communication, is involved in the actions of alcohol. This research may help us to better understand and treat alcohol use disorder.
