Biography

Sensory feedback arising from spontaneous motor activity during REM sleep (i.e., myoclonic twitching) is thought to play an important role in driving the early development of the sensorimotor system. My dissertation aims to elucidate the motor pathways involved in the generation of twitching and determine how REM sleep and twitching promote functional interactions between developing sensorimotor structures.
