My dissertation examines the process and products of collaborative and individual writing as they relate to learning Spanish as a second language. The purpose of my study is to shed light on the nature of peer interaction during the writing process, to examine the relationship between learners’ collaborative behavior and the quality of the texts they produce; and to compare the texts they compose together with those they write individually, using several linguistic and holistic measures.
