Currently no drug can cure or effectively mediate symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease. As drug advancements are sought, we must identify complementary interventions to help those living with this disease. I examined the effects of a music therapy intervention on social engagement, affective responses, and quality of life in nursing home residents with dementia. Results of this randomized clinical trial will provide additional evidence regarding the use and appropriate application of music therapy with this population.
