Engineered nanoparticles NPs have unique physiochemical properties and are used in a variety of applications including cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and catalysts. NPs can make their way into the environment and human body and can dissolve or agglomerate which has important consequences for toxicity. My research focuses on surface chemistry study of TiO2, ZnO, & CuO NPs in biological and environmental media using different analytical techniques in order to understand how NPs behave in these biological systems.
