Student success is the ultimate objective of education. Understanding different factors related to student academic performance has been highlighted by the latest public policy. My dissertation aims to understand how instruments that measure non-cognitive ability can increment the prediction of academic performance. I am first evaluating if the items function equally across groups, and then I am proceeding to the prediction of the outcome variable considering group as one of the main effects.
