My dissertation examines how immigration policy impacts Latinos, directly or indirectly. Recently, the U.S. has expanded immigration enforcement operations within their borders. As a result, there's been an increased level of attention on this expansion's impact. While this increased risk of deportation is well documented, less understood is the role localized policy plays. I question how levels of policy influences behavior through the interaction of both federal and local policy on the Latino population.
