The University of Iowa offers two complementary peer mentoring programs designed to support and empower graduate students across campus: GradLife Peer-to-Peer (P2P) and iPeer Mentorship.

GradLife Peer-to-Peer (P2P): The Graduate College’s signature peer mentoring program pairs students in an interdisciplinary mentoring match focused on navigating the complexities of graduate student life, accessing essential resources, and uncovering the "hidden curriculum" of graduate school. As a P2P mentor or mentee, you will engage in meaningful interactions that foster personal and academic growth, with access to training, resources, and social events.

iPeer Mentorship: Specifically tailored for international students, the iPeer Mentorship Program pairs new international students (mentees) with returning international students (mentors) to facilitate a smooth transition during their first semester. The program aims to provide holistic support for personal development, cultural adjustment, and academic success. Additionally, it empowers mentees to become leaders on campus, fostering a sense of community and belonging among the international student body.

These programs are jointly sponsored and administered by the Graduate College and International Programs. All graduate mentor pairs are welcome to participate in any and all activities associated with either program.

Timeline of events: Optional iPeers trainings in February-April, New Mentor SIgn up in March-April, New Mentee Sign up in May, Mentor matching in June, P2P training and "Dinner by the River" Social on August 21
