Collective migrations of cells are essential to development and are common during metastasis. However, regulatory mechanisms required for this complex process are poorly understood. Our goal is to determine the role that Prostaglandins, lipid signaling molecules, play in regulating collective cell migration in complex living tissue. I work to understand the role of Prostaglandins by using the fruit fly (Drosophila Melanogaster) as a genetic model system, alongside a variety of imaging and molecular techniques.
