Winter started her love for research at an early age following her father around the lab and eventually getting to help on a project in her high school years. She hopes to help doctors develop better treatments for airway diseases by treating the airway mucus, an often overlooked aspect of airway health.

When she's not in the lab she enjoys being outside with her dog and horses.
