Light-emission efficiency of organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) is severely limited by the magnetic state of the light-emission process. In my dissertation, we work on processes using external magnetic fields that can overcome these magnetic limitations. Our work provides a flexible and inexpensive pathway towards magnetic functionality and field sensitivity in next generation OLEDs. Such OLEDs have considerable potential as novel, sensitive, multi-functional organic devices with integrated optical, electronic and magnetic characteristics.
