Self-adjusting algorithms enable distributed systems to respond to changes in input patterns and spontaneously adjust their properties to improve overall performance. As an example, a network meant to deliver streaming videos may dynamically replicate a viral video in multiple servers to minimize the average streaming time for users. My research focuses on designing self-adjusting algorithms for large-scale distributed systems, and evaluating them both theoretically and experimentally.
