Biography

I study how chronic stress during pregnancy affects the brain development of the offspring. Research in humans shows that maternal stress during pregnancy can increase risk for neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorders, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and schizophrenia. Using a mouse model, I am exploring the use of a potential therapeutic compound, P7C3, which may help alleviate the effects of chronic psychological stress on both mother in offspring.
