Biography

Tetraarylethylenes (TAEs) embody an intriguing scaffold for development of biosensors as they exhibit the phenomenon of aggregation-induced emission (AIE). This property is characterized by the appearance of a fluorescence response upon aggregation of TAEs. My research focuses on utilization of TAEs as central organizing motifs for fluorescent bioactive constructs. The fundamental investigations performed in completing this work will provide new molecular tools for additional basic and translational biomedical research in the future.
