Our current understanding of particle physics relies on the Standard Model. The Standard Model predicts the existence of a Higgs boson and its mechanism, which gives mass to other particles. My research involves searching for the Higgs boson decaying to muons using proton-proton collisions recorded by the Compact Muon Solenoid experiment at CERN's Large Hadron Collider. The research will also measure parameters of the Standard Model which can only be determined from experiment.
