Food-borne enteric diseases continue to affect people and remain a threat to children under the age of five, especially in developing countries. It is crucial to monitor enteric contamination in foods to identify enteric contamination risk factors. I am trying to address the current gaps in quantitative detection methodologies for exposure science and to determine whether the antimicrobial resistance bacteria contamination in food is mainly driven by market and/or household hygiene practices.
