Biography
Uncertainty in emission estimates is one the main reasons for shortcomings in the Atmospheric Chemistry Transport Models (CTMs) which can reduce the confidence level of impact assessment of anthropogenic activities on air quality and climate. Comparison with various air pollutant measurements shows significant under-estimation of oil and gas emission estimates in the official EPA inventory. My research develops a data assimilation framework to reduce the uncertainties around the emission estimates from oil and gas operations.
