My research focuses on antiracist pedagogy in English Language Arts (ELA) teacher training, as well as working toward grounded theory on the affordances early career teachers bring to the teaching force. My dissertation, a critical qualitative multi-case study examining how early career ELA teachers - teachers of Color and White teachers - understand and instruct about issues of race, racism, and anti-racism is poised to elucidate findings which will be critical to the training of preservice teachers - both White and preservice teachers of Color.
