My research focuses on creating more realistic models of infectious diseases to better estimate disease transmission and the effectiveness of interventions, which are of interest to researchers and public health organizations. We have developed an infectious disease modeling framework to account for false positive and false negative tests. We are now working on improving models for COVID-19 to account for diagnostic uncertainty as well as the presence of asymptomatic cases and untested individuals.
