I develop Big Data Analytics Techniques to study rare gathering and dispersal patterns in urban setting. I use massive data-sets of vehicle movements to formulate such patterns and develop algorithms that, given the real-time movement of vehicles, predict rare gathering or dispersal patterns. Moreover, my methods predict the magnitude of such patterns, in terms of number of vehicles involved. My work improves the decision making of city administration and businesses, through a data-driven approach.
