In most organisms, production of viable sperm and eggs requires the formation and repair of DNA damage in meiosis. My research uses Caenorhabditis elegans to investigate the roles of the Replication Protein A (RPA) complex in replication, repair of DNA damage, and development of normal ovaries. Furthermore, I have created a system that allows for the illumination of specific proteins in the ovary, and I am currently developing a system to generate targeted DNA damage.
