Biography
The size of brain signals at specific frequencies relates closely to behavior. For example, beta (15-29Hz) amplitude is increased during movement cancellation. When averaged, these beta changes seem sustained over time, but recent work has revealed individual occurrences of beta are in fact burst-like. In my dissertation, I am investigating the relationship between beta bursts and motor control, focusing on unexplored dynamics of beta bursts in both deep and superficial regions of the human brain.
