With over 2,500 international students and scholars representing 100+ countries, the University of Iowa is a global campus. We are excited that you have chosen to be a part of this institution as we strive to increase global outreach. The campus resources below will help your transition to life in the United States.
Resources for International Postdoctoral Scholars:
International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) - F or J-1 visa holders only
This office should be your first stop when you arrive on campus. It strives to assist our international scholars before and after their arrival to the area.
Their website also has a wealth of information that all international scholars may find helpful as you settle in Iowa City.
Faculty & Staff Immigration Services – H-1B visa holders
If you have questions about your visa, talk to your department first. If your department cannot answer your question(s), then have your departmental administrator call and schedule an appointment with somebody in Faculty & Staff Immigration Services. If you need help obtaining visas for your spouse and/or children, you may also request assistance from this office.
