Psychosocial problems (e.g., deficits in social communication and interpersonal interaction) are exceedingly common following traumatic brain injury, and are among the major predictors of long-term outcome. However, little is known about the mechanisms underlying these issues. In my dissertation I plan to use a combination of magnetic resonance imaging and behavioral data to examine the structural and functional neural networks underlying emotion recognition deficits following traumatic brain injury.
