Undergraduate minimum qualifications
We prefer a student majoring in a scientific field, who has had at least basic college courses in biology and chemistry.Those entering the senior or junior years the following Fall benefit most from the experience.
Undergraduate role
Undergraduate researchers in the lab typically work on a project of their own, that is part of or closely related to a larger ongoing project in the lab. One or two senior graduate students or fellows will serve as co-mentors with Dr. Bishop. Last summer, the work performed by our SROP student resulted in her inclusion as an author of a paper we published this year in a top peer-reviewed journal.
